Cleaning tips

We all want our dream home to always look perfect, so today I'm giving you some simple, foolproof tips to keep in mind when maintaining and cleaning your furniture:

For your wooden furniture

To remove dust, clean wooden surfaces with a damp cloth in the direction of the wood grain. Always wipe with a soft, dry cloth to dry excess moisture.

Avoid using furniture wax, harsh chemicals, or abrasive cleaners. These can alter the texture of the wood and cause stains. Polishes containing silicone, alcohol, oils, detergents, liquid soap, etc. can also cause stains. Avoid splashing with chemicals such as thinner, Varsol, nail polish remover, nail polish remover, perfumes, liquors, and coffee.

Dry spills immediately with a clean cloth. Protect surfaces from heat and moisture by using coasters, pads, or rags under hot glasses or dishes. Use a protective pad when writing with a pen. Keep it out of direct sunlight. When moving furniture, always lift it rather than drag it. Remember, these are for indoor use only.

For your fabric upholstered furniture

Turn cushions and shake or vacuum frequently to remove dust and prevent general dirt. Dust is the main cause of wear and tear on upholstered items. To prevent fading, keep the fabric away from direct sunlight. Dry spills immediately.

Each of our fabrics has specific care instructions that we recommend reviewing, however, we always recommend professional upholstery cleaning.

For your outdoor furniture

The main factor to consider when maintaining outdoor furniture is its composition. At Monica Saravia, our outdoor furniture is completely eco-friendly, features fully anodized frames, offering UV resistance, and is backed by the ISO6063 aluminum certification.

To keep them looking their best, we recommend monthly maintenance. Dust. Use mild detergents. Use cold or slightly warm water. Scrub repeatedly to remove soap residue. Allow to air dry. Do not apply heat to the fabric to speed up drying.

Now that you know these cleaning and maintenance tips for your furniture, it's time to put them into practice and share them!
